Our vibrant microbrewery taphouse, located in the heart of Tamworth, was named CAMRA National Pub of the Year in both 2022 and 2023. A true destination for real ale lovers, it has gained a devoted following for its exceptional beers and ales, With a selection brewed on-site with passion and expertise.
We have 8 constantly changing casks ales, sourced from far and wide are served by our knowledgeable and friendly staff along with 40 craft ciders, Belgian draught and bottles and craft beers from around the world. Tamworth Brewing Co, our onsite brewery produces festival specials and a core range of ales.
George Greenaway founded the Tamworth Tap in 2017 after restoring a former tourist information center into a pub, microbrewery
Occupying three floors, our historic 16th century building has many period features including wattle and daub and a grand Georgian triple frontage. Fascinating breweriana adorns the walls and nooks, engaging many visitors. Our much-coveted cellar boasts Medieval stone walls and serves at the perfect temperature all year round.
The Tap’s award-winning beer garden, ‘The Hop Yard’, is overlooked by the town’s impressive Norman castle and shares its Saxon wall, visible whilst supping a pint. Live music and a huge eclectic range of events take place inside and out, making the Tap a real hub of the community with an emphasis on inclusivity and positivity.
